WINCHESTER, KY – The Ale-8-One Bottling Company announced on March 7, 2003, the introduction of Diet Ale 8 to the Kentucky market area.

Diet Ale 8 will be available immediately in 12 oz. non-returnable bottles at retail outlets where Ale-8-One is currently available. Diet Ale 8 is the first new product offering of the company since Ale-8-One was launched in 1926. It contains no calories, sodium or aspartame. State-of- the-art sweeteners sucralose, (Splenda®) and acesulfame potassium (Ace K) were chosen for their qualities to sweeten without leaving the aftertaste commonly associated with aspartame.

Frank A. Rogers, III, president and owner of the company said, “Dietary and weight conscious consumers have been requesting a diet drink for some time, but it was very important that Diet Ale 8 retain the same unique flavor as the original Ale-8-One.”

Twelve-ounce cans and 20 oz. plastic bottles will be produced in the near future.

The Ale-8-One Bottling Company has been bottled since 1926. The founder and inventor of Ale-8-One, G. L. Wainscott, began in the soft drink industry in Winchester in 1902, and is the great-uncle of the current owner, Rogers.
